Production Art Department is a unique school in Sydney. Our courses focus exclusively on concept art, storyboarding, and comic book illustration for the entertainment industries.
We are a specialist college within the VET and University sectors of NSW. We teach illustration skills in every single class, based upon principles that enable you to draw believable characters and environments directly from your imagination.

PAD is proud to present a brand new series of modules on Digital Sculpting for Concept Art with Evan Shipard! In these modules, you will use Zbrush and Maya within a production pipeline to create concept art from film scripts. PAD is proud to present our new introduction to conceptual illustration. In this 4 day workshop designed for students of high school age, our industry mentors will go through their experiences and observations about their careers and give students an overview of the fundamental skills required to work in their field. Fundamental artistic principals such as colour and light, perspective and character design will also be covered in this 4 day intensive workshop.

We offer both long-form and short-form
PAD thoroughly hones the foundation skills of drawing. We therefore teach a long-form course, consisting of consecutive modules. We also offer elective modules. These modules provide specialized skills in the form of short workshops. They run independently for ten weeks each.
