Human Anatomy studies the proportions of the male and female forms. The body is broken down into parts in order to learn the bones and muscles in a logical progression. The subject also applies these anatomical understandings to models during life drawing sessions. The knowledge accumulated throughout the year enables students to accurately draw the human figure without reference material.
In this subject, students focus on the musculature of the human figure. The formation and functionality of the muscles are analysed, in addition to their origins and insertions. This knowledge is then applied to dynamic figure drawing and life drawing studies.
