Production Art Department is proud to present a brand new workshop module: ‘Digital Sculpting for Concept Art’, presented Evan Shipard!

Digital Sculpting for Concept Art takes you through the professional production pipeline to produce concept art from film scripts. The course incorporates Photoshop, Zbrush, Keyshot, and Maya to expedite the workflow. The software is used to apply principles of composition, colour and light, and visual narrative to shots. This module introduces students to the fundamentals of 3d sculpting, lighting, and digital painting. Software is used as a tool to create concept art from a script exert. Students will learn artistic skills and optimal work practices within a production environment.

TUTOR PROFILE

Evan Shipard is a professional artist from Sydney, Australia with nearly two decades of experience in the concept art and entertainment design industries. His work combines modern digital techniques with classical art training. Evan has experience in fields ranging from concept art, to matte painting, to art direction. He is the founder of Sydney studio Cartel Artists, which has worked extensively with clients such as 20th Century Fox, Games Workshop, Wizards of the Coast, and Animal Logic.
